Protect the Children against Paedofidesz
Orbán on several occasions quoted the perhaps most stupid wording he demanded to amend his basic law with “mother is a woman, father is a man” just to end with the words “and leave our children alone.” Exactly this he doesn’t do, he doesn’t leave the children alone, Orbán wants neglecting children in favour of cheap propaganda. He deprives children of a healthy mental state, a solid personal development, and right now he makes children part of a terrible smear campaign, he abuses children to underline his ambitions to remain in power eternally.
The clause in the constitution I mentioned was added to make it same-sex couples impossible to adopt children. Of course it is a useless attempt, since same-sex couples consist of couples that define themselves to be 2 women or 2 men. The misrepresentation that one part in a same-sex couple has to be a cheap copy of the opposite sex to make this couple function is used here. Orbán’s constitution doesn’t ban a child of having 2 mothers or 2 fathers. In opposite to this working effectively is the fact that couples need to be married before an adoption procedure can be started. In the same basic law Orbán has limited marriage to opposite sex couples. Technically this works, the rest is propaganda. Of course Orbán did not ask what would be in the interest of the well-being of the children, if couples that could give a child a good home can’t do so by ideological limitations.
The opposition now campaigns against this abuse of children ►HU, they call attention to the manipulative referendum Orbán ordered to be held together with the general elections. Unity for Hungary calls for protection of children against “Paedofidesz.”
Márta Demeter (LMP) recalled the scandal of FIDESZ own Gábor Kaleta, formerly ambassador in Peru, on whose laptop through a common investigation of the police of Peru and American FBI 20 000 paedophile depictions were found. This has been pretty much kept secret, especially within regime media. Kaleta was sentenced to fine of 540 000 (1 400 € as today) and the former diplomat was not even limited from holding positions related to children.
Bence Tordai (P) spoke about “the need to protect children from poverty” instead of limiting information to be able to develop adequately, “this affects more and more children.” He also said the new government will raise child benefits and GYES (benefit for parents staying at home with small children,) which have remained unchanged since 2010, and make the tax relief system for children fairer, now it works primarily in favour those with high incomes.
Olga Kálmán (DK) said that the entire referendum would not be child protection, but FIDESZ’ attempt to hide their own suspected politicians. Such as the one who is suspected having taken intimate photographs of the own foster daughter or the case of another former FIDESZ local representative in Budapest, working as teacher, who has had sex with an 13-year-old girl ►HU.
The case of this 56-year-old teacher abusing his pupil has been recognised by the relevant ministry of human resources, his contract was terminated by “mutual agreement,” and police investigates.
One of the questions of the referendum is very generally about allowing children to be taught about sexuality. Orbán always claims that the anti-gay law would be about giving parents back the right of sexual education of their children. This is not the case, but could be a consequence of the referendum if it will be valid (50 % quorum of valid votes) and this question will get a majority of “no” votes. Right now mainly the development of children feeling different from their heterosexual peers is limited, they are left alone with their feelings. The rest is cut off understanding the minorities “only.” This might be the case for all in future.
Hungary already now has an unbelievable high rate of pregnancies of minors, practically all of them unwanted. Hungarian teenagers have sex, this should not be the surprise. But awareness would be great. Teaching at schools things as “you don’t need to do what you don’t want to do” would be forbidden. For parents this is a very emotional question of course, sex becomes easily the sweet forbidden fruit. Teachers can more easily explain factually. In schools information how to avoid pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases should be increased instead of banning. In a country where the pure existence of sexuality must be hidden from children abuse will be easy. Adults who already now feel safe to abuse children sexually will find a paradise for their crimes in a society where children don’t know at all what is done to them. Not for nothing Demeter called for changes in the law to make watching “only” how children were made victims of sexual violence a criminal offence as well ►HU.
While this very reasonable call was made by Unity for Hungary the FIDESZ propaganda is telling horror stories. For example the number of children sent to diagnostics in the UK to understand whether they need psychological help for their development regarding their gender identity is made to the number of minors who changed gender legally. According to UK law the latter was exactly 0, since only adults have the right to this legal decision ►HU. Offering help to children it is a crime according to FIDESZ.
In fact the FIDESZ propaganda machine is using the state funds for promotion of the regime referendum. Much more than the parties are campaigning. I have seen streets where at every single street lightning pole the picture of a woman with a worried expression on her face and a child look down to promote the message to vote with “no.” Unity for Hungary, but also the dog party, are calling for invalid voting. The latter told NOYES – stupid questions deserve stupid answers:
Also NGOs are campaigning for invalid voting, since a serious answer can’t be given to the questions, only an emotional one. Way too vague descriptions, but with the legal need to change them into law. Who wants children to be forced to gender change operations, showing them how such operations take place, or to show them porn. But this all is already forbidden in Hungary, while the intention is to cut off children of all adequate information and even more to turn the public opinion against everybody who does not fit into the propagated live of a man with a woman (in this order,) married to each other, and with as many children as the female body can produce.

Very early Sunday morning there was a Russian missile attack on a Ukrainian Army training base close to the Polish border. The attack according to what I have read involved 30 Russian missiles that killed 30 on the base and wounded another 134. I asked my own daughter this morning Chicago time on the military internet link who is in Poland now with the US Army if she could hear the attack, she said yes and they were put on alert because of it. She indicated that no missiles came across the border and she was fine as were all solders under her command. She would say no more than that.
Of course I am worried about this strike because it is obviously a risky move on the part of the Russians. This took place after Putin made public statements that arms shipments crossing NATO borders into Ukraine were now considered legitimate targets.
I just read the death total from the attack has been raised to 35.
Apparently Ukrainian anti-aircraft batteries intercepted an unknown number of Russian missiles. The Russians apparently used a mass attack to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses. Most land-attack Russian Kalibr cruise missiles fly below the speed of sound at 450-650 miles per hour, roughly the velocity of a cruising airliner. That leaves them much slower than high-arcing ballistic missiles. Most are believed to carry up to a 705-pound warhead. That is of course easily within the weight of a tactical nuclear war head. Modern tactical nuclear warheads have yields up to the tens of kilotons, or potentially hundreds, several times that of the weapons used in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The cost estimate for these Russian missiles is about $980,000 per missile and they are less accurate than US cruise missiles which cost around $2 million each. Even so they are good enough assuming killing some innocents is not of great concern to the Russians. Using a combination of satellite navigation, inertial and terminal radar guidance, these can supposedly land within 3 meters on average of a given target according to the Russians. The US estimates of their accuracy are not that good according to what I have read more likely to land within 20-25 meters of a target half the time.
Istvan, I am no expert on tactics, but if someone fires missiles that come close to your troops, is it not sensible to strike wiping out the source before they can fire again and directly, killing many?
I doubt that will happen unless the Russian missiles cross into Poland itself. Even then if it is only one missile I doubt it would trigger a US and NATO response, if it were 30 I suspect it would. This has to be a big worry for all the front line NATO countries including Hungary. I have no doubt the 82nd airborne in Poland has with it a patriot air defense battery that is able to detect and track more than 100 potential targets at the same time and has a range of over 100 km.
I have seen the system at a military show, it operates with only a 3 person crew. So I have to assume the 82nd airborne knew this attack was coming to the Polish training center. These are very young soldiers in this video, its a young person’s game to be honest. Many of the young soldiers grew up playing games like this one https://www.y8.com/games/missile_defense_system which really and honestly prepare them for this type of work. Being an old man I am in amazement when I see how closely the gaming skills of many of these young soldiers transfer over to real life military skills. Of course Russian kids have these skills too.
Should be supplied to Ukraine
A lot more has been revealed by the NY Times within the last few hours. Ukrainian air defense systems intercepted 22 of the missiles, according to officials, but about 8 hit the base. Ukrainian officials said the cruise missiles were launched from Russian fighter jets flying from Saratov, in southwestern Russia.
As you can see from the video US forces go through extensive training prior to operating a Patriot battery Robert. I doubt there is time for that and NATO will not crew it in Ukraine.
An independent commission, concludes in an investigative report published in October 2021 that 216,000 children have been abused by priests, religious and other employees of the Roman Catholic Church in France since the 1950s; the commission’s study estimates a total of 330,000 victims. There are about 3,200 potential perpetrators. In addition, there are the non-clerical perpetrators. But that only applies to sexually abused children, people can be abused in many ways.
I guess that in Hungary all priests are saints and the children don’t have to know when they are raped …

It is not surprising that Putin and Orbán are so similar, autocrats need enemies and if it is their own population – otherwise they fall. For Putin and Orbán I wish the latter then I make a bulli.
Orbán stated quite a while ago that instead of terrifying priests the crimes of the liberals should be investigated. He is only interested in children if they are useful objects for his policies, definitely not in the well-being of children. Since children neither vote for FIDESZ nor pay taxes they are useless for him.

The Russians are publicly stating now that the missile attack near the Polish border was targeting foreign volunteers preparing to fight for Ukraine who may go to that base prior to being assigned to units and receiving weapons. I doubt very seriously any Ukrainian Americans volunteering will be eligible to receive any support from the US government if they are injured or need to be evacuated back to the USA. US State Department spokesperson Ned Price during a Friday press briefing said that and discouraged all US citizens from joining the Legion. Really this situation is taking a dangerous turn.
I’ve seen reports that show Western volunteers going to Ukraine, among them Americans as well. Denmark has expressly permitted citizens to join Ukraine’s forces.

Ukraine denies Russia’s claim that it has killed 180 ‘foreign mercenaries’ in Lviv Oblast. Ukraine’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Markiyan Lubkivsky told CNN that it’s “pure Russian propaganda” and there were no foreign citizens among the 35 people killed in the missile attack on the military training ground in western Ukraine on March 13.

I watched briefly the CNN coverage and they raised expectations of serious peace talks.
I believe it is part of Putin’s diversionary tactics. He cannot negotiate any deal that any decent person could accept.
Biden and NATO should finally accept that we must defeat Russia and extract a deal that guarantees no repeat of their crimes. He must be brought to justice.
