About
From 2007 onwards Professor Éva S. Balogh, who formerly taught East European history at Yale University, reported occasionally together with guest contributors on her blog Hungarian Spectrum. Through the years Hungarian Spectrum became a highly valued source of information about the situation in Hungary.
On November 30th, 2021 suddenly and unexpectedly died Professor Éva S. Balogh and with her ended Hungarian Spectrum. The last entry ends with these words about Éva and her readers:
“I trust that her work helped to further the cause of democracy in Hungary and that you, her readers, will carry on the mission.”
Some of her readers decided to follow this wish indeed and started the blog Hungarian News. Everybody who has to tell a noteworthy story about Hungary can get it published here.
